The Beauty of Prayer

The Lights of Christmas season is a beautiful and fun time for so many in the Western Washington community. It’s a place that brings joy to those who need it during the potentially hard Holiday season, and a place that takes the excitement of some Christmas lovers and turns it up to the max!

Every year The Lights of Christmas makes an impact for good whether that be through The Lights of Christmas for All program, simply providing a space for families to make meaningful Christmas memories, giving volunteers the opportunity to have a blast giving back, or just that indescribable feeling when a child takes the first bite of a hot-fresh mini-donut.

One way The Lights of Christmas has been a huge encouragement for people over the past two years is with the addition of prayer rooms at the Activity Stops.

Prayer rooms are a highlight of many visitors to The Lights of Christmas. Just the knowledge that people see and are praying for your needs, desires, grief, and praises is such a blessing.

Each year both prayer rooms have overflowed with requests written on notes and placed on trees or the walls. It’s a beautiful sight to behold. One that says everyone is welcome here, the broken, grieving, hurt, and confused along with the faithful, joyful, and triumphant.

These rooms become not just an encouragement for those leaving requests, but those who visit and pray for the requests as well. The Lights of Christmas staff are honored that so many guests trust us with their prayers. It’s a beautiful way we get to support our community.

In 2025, we even got to witness a proposal in one of the prayer rooms! God must have heard his prayer because she said, “Yes!”
