One-of-a-kind Christmas festival adds new features
The Lights of Christmas brings both nostalgia and innovation together for a one-of-a-kind family Christmas experience you have to see to believe. Since The Lights of Christmas festival first opened in 1997, the event has doubled in size and scope, now with over one million lights, 50% more decorated area, and annual attendance three times the 20,000 people we had in year one.
This 20th anniversary year brings additions and upgrades to enhance the beauty and wonder of the experience. Highlights include:
The marquee larger-than-life nativity scene will expand with the new “Journey to Bethlehem” display, adding Joseph with Mary riding on a donkey. Three wise men are also joining the central scene.
The Gloria Angel display is going to sport a large fountain of lights as the centerpiece.
The Polar Express train station is moving to a new location across from the Elfland Toyshop, where guests will load and unload the train. The train ride will still take guests around the Tinhorn Town loop, to enjoy the Christmas sights and sounds as they ride.
The Wonderland area is receiving the first phase of upgrades to create a land of fairy tale delight. A new lighted archway will draw visitors into this place of wonder and fun, including the petting farm and light maze, along with creative light displays.
New food options in Tinhorn Town will feature CaribBean Cuisine and Stanwood Concessions Barbeque. Seating will be arranged to encourage guests to bring food in from the outdoor vendor stands as well.
We hope you will join us for this experience that brings the Christmas spirit to life! Opening night is November 30, with 22 nights available in 2017. For more information about the Festival, Live Theatre, or Overnight Getaways, go to www.thelightsofchristmas.com.
