Meet The Lights of Christmas Leadership Team
The melodious sound of Christmas songs ring throughout the car with the occasional cracked voice and child’s giggle. Anticipation grows as the family car parks, children eagerly waiting to get out and see Bruce-the-Spruce, Santa, and more! This night, this cold December night, will serve as a core memory that ignites a new family tradition.
The Lights of Christmas has thousands of attendees each year. Many are families bringing their children in hope of experiencing a slice of Christmas joy. The event staff are excited to share the joy and hope of the Christmas story with all who attend.
While the event only runs select nights from late November to the end of December, it takes an entire year to plan, prepare, and set up. Kayla, Maddie, and Sara are the masterminds behind it all. Throughout the year they research potential upgrades and new display designs. They attend holiday event expos, meet with others in the industry, and pray for what God desires for the event. Their passion stems from a desire to share the Christmas magic that began in Bethlehem with a babe in a manger.
Kayla Castiglione, The Lights of Christmas Director, first started volunteering at the event with her mom when she was in fourth grade and has been part of the Warm Beach Camp Ministries family ever since. She now heads up this event and has an incredible vision of connecting with the community. Her Christmas wish this year is for good health for her friends and family and that those who attend The Lights of Christmas will experience all God has for them.
Maddie Smith, The Lights of Christmas Light Technician, has a similar origin story in connection with the event. She started coming with her parents to The Lights of Christmas when she was a kid. She joined the staff last year as a seasonal employee and was promoted to a full-time employee in The Lights of Christmas department after the season was over. Her hope is that everyone enjoys The Lights of Christmas as much as she does and that the hard work the staff put in would be reflected in the experiences of everyone who attends.
Sara Kauffman, The Lights of Christmas Project Coordinator, is new to the team. She started volunteering three years ago and was hired on as full-time staff in The Lights of Christmas department during the summer of 2022. She loves the artistic design of the event and loves building relationships with staff and volunteers as they set up and run the event. Her Christmas wish this year is that people will come and see The Lights of Christmas in a new way, fall in love with the new vision, and be drawn to Jesus.
The Lights of Christmas takes a village to plan, prepare, set up, and run. We are so thankful for this leadership team and all the seasonal staff and volunteers who make it possible to share the hope and joy of Christmas with the community! We hope you’ll join us this year for The Lights of Christmas, and we wish you a very Merry Christmas!
