Get ready with me – Festival attire and more
December 1, 2018
Are you wondering exactly what you should wear or bring to The Lights of Christmas festival? Here are 5 things you should consider as you prepare to come.
- Winter Weather AttireBurrrrrr…..it’s getting cold! Remember your winter jacket, hat and gloves. The event does have indoor venues but the majority of the event is outside. I mean, you came for the gorgeous lights and fresh mini donuts both of which are outside, right? So, you’ll want to stay warm as you walk around gazing at the beautiful lights and munching on those yummy donuts. It wouldn’t hurt to wear an extra layer, especially on colder nights. I like the knit baggy sweaters and of course festive ugly sweaters are always welcome!
- Boots & Shoes for the OutdoorsDon’t forget your boots or water resistant shoes! It can get wet and a little muddy in some of the parking areas and gravel roads. Comfortable boots and shoes are important since you will be doing a lot of walking to see all the beautiful displays and participate in the fun activities.
- Extra Helpful ItemsBag or Purse – If you are anything like me, you love shopping for unique gifts. The Lights of Christmas has a variety of items available for purchase. Local vendors will be selling gifts throughout the event. You may even get all your Christmas shopping done. Bring a bag or purse to hold all your items comfortably.Umbrella – If it looks like it might rain, that’s ok… It just makes the lights extra sparkly! But remember to bring your umbrella so you can stay dry and warm.If someone in your group is using a wheelchair, remember to bring a blanket to keep them warm and comfortable. Wheelchairs are available at the Welcome Center on a first-come first-serve basis.
- Camera or Smart PhoneThere are so many beautiful displays and picture perfect areas. Not to mention fun characters that are eagerly awaiting a photo op with you! Remember to tag us on social media with #WarmBeachLights and #TheLightsofChristmas!
- Your holiday spirit!
It’s Christmas! One of the most wondrous holidays of the year! Don’t forget your childlike sense of adventure. You’ll find joy in all the fun activities and wonder in the beautiful light displays. For extra fun, lighted accessories are available for purchase at the Welcome Center!
Please note: No pets, alcohol or marijuana allowed at the event.
We look forward to seeing you at The Lights of Christmas festival!
