A Generous Heart from One Gun Industries
Christmas is not only a time of getting but also a time of giving. There are so many incredible organizations, communities, and people who give back to others during the holidays.
We were blessed to receive a donation to upgrade the train. The train needed new paint and electrical repairs to stay operational, so it was a huge blessing to receive the funds to breathe new life back into this iconic feature of the event.
Kayla Castiglione, The Lights of Christmas Director, began her search to find just the right person for the job. After searching for what seemed like forever, she put feelers out into the community for recommendations.
Taylor Cox, from One Gun Industries came highly recommended. He had been looking for a project in the community where he could use his talents to give back. God’s perfect timing brought him to Warm Beach Camp.
After looking at the train, Taylor became excited about all the creative changes that would make the train even more iconic than it already is while maintaining the nostalgia of its history. Having a limited budget Kayla had to decline his incredible vision, but Taylor wasn’t taking no for an answer.
He asked her what her unlimited dream would be for the train and Kayla started to dream big alongside Taylor who graciously agreed to fulfill that dream. In shock of his incredible generosity, Kayla began to celebrate! So many people were going to experience joy through Taylor’s vision for the train and she was so excited to have met him at just the right time.
After months of hard work, Taylor drove the finished train back to Camp. As Kayla eagerly awaited, she began to laugh and freak out when she saw the finished piece. It was so much better than anything she expected! Bright shiny red, candy cane designs, colorful lights, speakers, and more! Taylor’s vision became a reality that brought new life to the iconic train.
“He honored the people who donated the tractor for the train originally by leaving the names of the donors on the back and adding his name to the list. I thought this was really cool because he honored what had come before, and that’s a big thing for us at The Lights of Christmas. It was shocking and really exciting!” -Kayla, The Lights of Christmas Director
Taylor graciously gave his time and talents in recreating the train engine for The Lights of Christmas and is now creating a vision for the train cars. What an incredible example of generosity! The event and community have been so blessed by Taylor’s creativity and hard work and we are so thankful for him and his company.
